Software Solutions - Monitoring/Managing Devices & Document Accounting
Print Tracker
The requirement of modern day businesses and educational establishments to control costs and better understand expenditure is perfectly matched by the flexible and comprehensive reports available through the use of a Print Tracker Software.
Costs associated with producing documents can be accounted for and managed. By analysing printer usage, better utilisation of an existing printer fleet may be achieved by allocating a cost effective printer for each user or department.
How it works
The software monitors and captures print information from all print devices including digital copiers, network printers and local printers. It uses a client-based architecture that requires minimal resources on the network. Management functions allow the administrator to optionally set printing quotas and then monitor user and printer usage. A particularly useful facility for establishments is the ability to invoke time sensitive charging to individual departments.
By setting the departments to be active only at certain times, the use of printers by, say, students during lesson times may be charged to the appropriate department(s) whereas printing outside allocated times is charged to the student's personal account.
An administrator can monitor usage of inappropriate printers, such as a personal inkjet printer to produce a large multi-page report when access is available to a fast departmental colour printer. The administrator can first set an automatic warning message. If this does not modify behaviour, the administrator can force the user to re-direct the job to an appropriate printer thereby educating the user.
The net result is massive savings and improved longitivity of existing printers/MFP's.
